The classic storm lantern is an ideal companion for any outdoor tour. It can also be used as atmospheric lighting or when camping. The lantern has a practical metal handle. It burns for around 20 hours on one tank of fuel and works with lamp oil or petroleum.

Petroleum lanterns are a very down-to-earth and traditional way of bringing light into the darkness. They have been used for decades to illuminate a wide variety of scenarios. They are a reliable, bright and inexpensive source of light. However, let us point out at this point that the use of petroleum lanterns with mantles (such as the HK 500) always requires an intensive study of the operating instructions and the general use of pure petroleum (NO SCENTED PETROLEUM - that clogs the nozzles!). It is also fundamentally necessary to try one - or better - several - uses at home, i.e. BEFORE the trip, in order to get to know the lantern and how it is used. The Feuerhand is less problematic and quiet, but by far not as bright as the Petromax. The advantages of the petroleum lantern: inexpensive operation, very bright, power-independent light, can be repaired at any time with the available spare parts, traditional shape, romantic ambience and simply beautiful!
