The mummy shape is the classic shape. It offers slightly better insulation values ​​with less material than the blanket sleeping bag. Due to the smaller pack size and lower weight, the mummy is more suitable for trekking and hiking, boat and bike tours. Here it is all the more important to make the right choice so that the weight advantage is not lost by an unsuitable model. How do you wash a down sleeping bag? In general, you should wash the down sleeping bag (like its synthetic fiber-filled counterparts) as little as possible. If necessary, wash it in the washing machine as follows: - Wash the sleeping bag in a large conventional washing machine, DO NOT use a top loader! - Max. water temperature 30 °C and only use down or mild detergent, but only a third of the usual amount. - Rinse thoroughly at least 5 times, then squeeze out the water or spin for max. 20 seconds, DO NOT wring! Instructions for drying: - Dry the sleeping bag in the dryer at max. 30 °C. - Use two dryer balls to ensure that the down is evenly distributed and the sleeping bag retains its soft texture. - Alternatively, you can lay the sleeping bag out on a flat surface to dry. - NEVER hang the sleeping bag up to dry! To extend the life of your sleeping bag, an inner liner is recommended. Individual stains can also be easily rubbed out with lukewarm soapy water and a sponge, and light dirt with a stiff brush. This saves the sleeping bag from having to be washed too often.
